London, Cambridge, Brighton, and further afield

Join me on a warm summer's evening on the steps above St. James Park for a glass of wine, before we delve into the park itself...for a cruise on the river to Greenwich, to see all that is old and new in this city of 2000 years and 9 million souls...for lunch at an atmospheric pub in Primrose Hill...to shop for antiques in Camden Passage or Portobello Market...And we don't have to just stay in London. We could go punting in Cambridge, visit the magnificent ancient colleges, have dinner at high table with the dons. Or stroll along one of England's rural waterways visiting bucolic villages...and with the Eurostar, we can strike even further afield, and discover Paris, the City of Lights, and Belgium's surreal capital, Brussels.

A word of advice

Where should we go now? Should I buy this at that price? Is this a good restaurant? What's a typically British present to get for my kids back home? If there is one valuable thing that someone with local knowledge can contribute to a visitor, it is advice. When you hire someone who has lived most of his life in this city, they can help you avoid many of the pitfalls that might otherwise impede you, and accomplish what you came here for. I will answer all your questions and give all the advice that you may require, to the best of my abilities. And if I don't have the answer, I will find someone who does, promptly, and always in your best interest.

Let me help you plan your schedule

You may have come here with a carefully planned schedule, or you may not. There may be gaps that you would like to fill with useful or interesting activities, or you may want to take a day off and not have to worry about the details; in either case, you can count on me to do my very best - telephoning, scheduling, planning, consulting with you and any other interested parties to ensure that your time is used as productively as possible.

We can negotiate over anything

"Get me a table at that restaurant!"
"Get me a discount at that jewellery shop!"
"I need a ticket to that show even though it's booked-out!"
"I want you to attend that meeting to convey our position and show how professional we are!"

I specialise in discreet, respectful and persuasive negotiation.
I'll help you get what you want!

Problem? What problem?

Sometimes the unexpected happens: a traffic jam on the motorway and you are late for your plane; an unforeseen formality needs to be dealt with; a meeting is cancelled; you don't feel well; someone, somewhere, has let you down. You hope this kind of thing won't happen, but you know it does from time to time. When travelling in unfamiliar territory, even the smallest contingency can have a major impact on your plans. I will do my best to unravel the situation by your side, before it becomes a crisis. With someone helping you and giving you moral support, you will find it easier to overcome.

Don't let the language barrier stand in your way

While in the UK, you are going to come in contact with locals, whom you will have to deal with for various purposes. You need to understand them, and you need them to understand you.

If your English is so-so, I can interpret for you. I will convey your meaning to the people you are talking to, and vice versa, even if I don't speak your mother tongue. I can also arrange for translation of documents into or out of English.

Back

Sharp written documents

To be taken seriously, you need professional-looking documents. The spelling and grammar must be spot on; the message you want to convey must come across clearly and with style. I draw up many kinds of documents for my clients: from text messages to e-mails, business letters, speeches, contracts, reports... And it's not only business: I can write your love letters or thank you notes too!

I will convey your message exactly how you want it to come across, using techniques that will make your documents particularly persuasive and impressive.

Conversational English sessions

You're in England.
You have some free time.
What better way to spend it than having an interesting conversation with an English mother tongue speaker! Practice your English, with me, sitting in an atmospheric pub, over a pint of beer...or in a black cab or a double-decker bus roaming through the centre of London!
